Before we get into the craziness of Robot Chicken, let’s put a little disclaimer out there. Here goes – humor is subjective so if you’re not a fan of dark humor, perhaps it’s time you turned back. For the rest of us, prepare to get a real kick out of the brilliant nonsense that Seth Green and Matthew Senreich have conjured up.
What Is Robot Chicken?
Robot Chicken is a stop-motion sketch comedy t.v. series that airs on Adult Swim. The creators are Seth Green and Matthew Senreich and they’re assisted by writers Douglas Goldstein and Tom Root. The show performs sketches that reference pop culture in a dark but humorous manner. Some characters like Superman, the cast of Star Wars, and the cast of Toy Story make recurring appearance throughout the 9 seasons the show has been running. Other characters like Donald Trump and E.T. pop up in special editions.
Who’s In It?
Although the voice actors have to put on different accents for their various roles, we can almost always tell who they are. But you’ll still be surprised by some of the Hollywood actors who add their own flair. Some of those talented stars are: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Ryan Seacrest, Emma Stone and Chris Evans.
Why We Love It
Robot Chicken is the culmination of everything we see on the news and the influences we experienced growing up. It gives us an escape from the reality of what’s going on around us by taking us deep into the Robot Chicken version of the world. It is downright hilarious and nostalgic all at the same time. Where else can you see your G.I. toy soldiers dating Barbie dolls? Or Superman enjoying a joint with Santa Claus and Joseph Stalin? Exactly, there’s nowhere else. Robot Chicken mixes reality, fiction and imagination into a masterpiece that will have your abs turning to steel.
What Can I Do?
